With so many acne solutions to choose from, it’s important to ask “how does this product clear my skin?”
Our approach is proven, scientific, and simple—three steps customized to your specific skin condition and goals: Hydrate, Exfoliate, and Treat.
The first step in this process, used twice a day, is our Hydrator Serum. We're constantly told to hydrate our skin, but do we truly understand what that means? After reading this post you will!
Hydration is referring to water. Moisture is referring to oil. Our Hydrator Serum is in a gel form with water soluble ingredients being the base versus oil. This allows the product to penetrate and provide the skin with hydration, without creating an “oil” barrier like a moisturizer would. When your skin is properly hydrated the products that you apply after work more effectively. Think of a sponge. If you have a hard, dry sponge and you try to pick up liquid on the counter, the sponge will not absorb the water evenly. If you first make that sponge damp (wringing out all the water) the sponge will absorb the liquid off the counter more effectively and evenly. This is the same for your skin.
The first step is to apply 1-2 pumps of Hydrator Serum on your on your face, neck and chest. Applying the Hydrator Serum as your first step keeps your skin balanced with hydration, so the products you apply after will evenly exfoliate or treat your skin. When your skin isn’t balanced with hydration it is in a compromised state which can lead to irritation and inflammation. For example, when doing a professional peel clients can experience “hot spots”. These are areas that were really dry and the peel went aggressively to that area and created irritation that might get red, itchy, weepy and eventually scab. We don’t want to create irritation, or inflammation in the skin.
Our Hydrator Serum will provide the moisture and protection to keep your skin balanced and ready to receive your next step, which could be: a product that exfoliates or a product that treats your acne.
